Government has responsibility ‘to prevent people risking their lives’ crossing Channel, says shadow home secretary

At least 31 people have drowned in the English Channel, according to the French authorities.

We spoke to Labour’s Shadow Home Secretary Nick Thomas-Symonds, and started by asking him whether these deaths were preventable.
