Government in fixed odds betting machines U-turn

The government has been forced into a major U-turn on the implementation date for changes to maximum bets on fixed odds betting terminals. Chancellor Philip Hammond had hoped to bring in the reduction from £100 to £2 in October next year, but a backlash, including the resignation of the Sports Minister Tracey Crouch, forced the issue. Now the change will be brought in six months earlier in April.
