Government to take asylum ruling to Supreme Court

Rwanda is not a safe third country for asylum seekers to be sent to. Rishi Sunak disagrees and the government will appeal against today’s decision, as the policy is a key part of his promise to deter people from crossing the Channel to the UK on small boats.

The Home Secretary Suella Braverman even called for a change in the legal system, describing it as “rigged against the British people”.
