Ministers have unveiled a £100m plan aimed at eradicating rough sleeping in England within the next decade, but it’s not clear if it’s new money paying for it.
Housing Secretary James Brokenshire said half the cash had already been committed and the rest was being “re-prioritised” from existing funds. Charities welcomed the plan, but called it “a step forward” rather than a total fix, saying the government still needed to tackle the chronic lack of genuinely affordable homes.
