Greece extreme weather: Widespread flooding just days after wildfires brought under control

Torrential rain has caused widespread flooding in Greece, just days after the deadly wildfires that raged across the country for weeks were brought under control.

At least 12 people are known to have died in the floods caused by downpours that have also hit Turkey and Bulgaria.

Meanwhile, the UN has confirmed that the northern hemisphere in 2023 has had its “hottest summer on record”.
