Grenfell inquiry: warning against social housing stereotypes

The inquiry into the Grenfell Tower fire was today warned against confirming the stereotypes around social housing. Speaking for a group of the bereaved and survivors, Leslie Thomas QC said the idea that residents deserved less because they lived in social housing “needs to be debunked”. But the day started with a plea from the lawyer for the man who lived in the flat where the fire started to leave his client alone.
