Hawaii fires: historic town of Lahaina ‘completely gone’ as death toll rises

The historic Hawaiian resort of Lahaina is now “completely gone” after the devastating wildfires, according to those who’ve fled, while the island of Maui now resembles a warzone.

Fifty five people are already confirmed to have died, and that’s expected to rise sharply when emergency teams begin searching through the remains of burnt out buildings.
