Heatwave emergency: Government holds COBRA meeting ahead of extreme temperatures this weekend

The extreme heatwave being forecast for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in much of England and Wales, has the potential to place such a burden on the NHS that the government’s COBRA committee met this morning to discuss contingency plans.
