Higher tax rates for top earners announced in Scotland

Higher earners in Scotland will have to pay more tax – as the Scottish government outlined its budget for next year. It includes a new 45% band which will be created for those paid more than £75,000. The deputy first minister Shona Robison said asking those with more, to pay more was “the right choice” – as Scotland became the highest taxed part of the UK.
