A new anti-knife crime campaign by the government has met fierce criticism – being variously described as “embarrassing”, “stupid” and “borderline racist.” The Home Office plans to use fried chicken boxes to carry its “knife-free” message – distributing more than 300,000 of the new boxes. It says the idea is to reach young people – reminding them of the tragic consequences of carrying knives.
