Since the war in Gaza began, the Iranian backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have been firing missiles and drones at Israel.
Amid increasing attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea, tonight the rebel group claimed they struck a British oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden.
The Houthis control a swathe of territory in Yemen’s north and west – including the capital Sanaa and crucially, a long stretch of Red Sea coast.
The US government says it will designate the Houthis as a terrorist organisation.
