How is Welsh seagrass nursery trying to restore UK’s marine habitat?

The humble seagrass. Its underwater meadows are unseen and underestimated but they are one of the world’s most important and threatened habitats. In the UK alone, ninety percent of the underwater meadows have been lost.

Now what’s been billed as the UK’s first large-scale seagrass nursery is processing tens of thousands of plants, the first of which have been introduced into the wild to restore the meadows. We went to Carmarthenshire in Wales to see how scientists are attempting to restore what’s been lost.
