How will Labour deal with water firms facing financial pressure?

One of the first acts of the new Labour government may well be taking Thames Water into public ownership. The company, which serves around 16 million customers in south east England, says it has less than a year before its money runs out.

It’s not the only water company facing financial pressure, but with its spiralling debt at a whopping £15 billion – the firm has so far been unable to find emergency investment.
