Humza Yousaf elected new leader of the SNP

Humza Yousaf says he’s the luckiest man in the world after he narrowly won election as the next leader of the Scottish National Party, promising to unite all sections of the SNP after a leadership contest which has revealed deep divisions within party ranks.

Mr Humza won just over 52% of the vote after second preferences, just ahead of his nearest rival Kate Forbes, with Ash Regan coming in third.
