Indonesia tsunami: Glimmers of hope under the rubble

French rescuers say they’ve detected a person, thought to still be alive, under the rubble of a collapsed hotel in Indonesia – almost a week after a powerful earthquake and tsunami.

But aid organisations are struggling to get help through to the survivors. Tens of thousands are homeless; increasingly desperate for food, water and medical supplies.
