Inflation hits 10.1% with food prices rising at fastest rate for more than 40 years

Soaring inflation figures fuelled by the price of food has piled even more worries onto people struggling with the cost of living crisis.

From pensioners to hospitality businesses, the rising costs and squeeze on incomes are already having a huge impact.
