In Afghanistan, the healthcare system is on the brink of collapse.

Thousands of health workers have fled, while obtaining medicine has become increasingly difficult with international funding withdrawn from the country after the Taliban seized power.

And the hot summer months are having a devastating impact on food supply because of drought, which means more patients than ever – especially children – are suffering from severe malnutrition.

Filmmaker Marco Salustro has been in Helmand province observing the desperation of both patients – and the staff struggling to help them.
