Iraq inquiry: both barrels blazing?

Sir John Chilcot’s Iraq war inquiry: both the UK and the US administrations could get it with both barrels this afternoon, writes the Iraq Inquiry Blogger for Channel 4 News.

Our bets may have fallen short before, but the smart money suggests it could be an interesting session this afternoon, as the Iraq inquiry takes evidence from Major General Timothy Cross.

The retired general was a senior logistics rep in Iraq, including at the short-lived American-led Office for Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance (ORHA) in 2003, and has got form for criticising the failure to plan for the post-war effort.

If the content of the written statement we have seen in advance is anything to go by, both the UK and the US administrations will get it with both barrels.
