The Irish Government said today that Britain will not break the deadlock in the Brexit negotiations simply by offering to pay more money to the EU.
The Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney insisted that talks will not progress unless a solution to the Irish border is also on the table. The leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, Arlene Foster, met Theresa May in Downing Street this afternoon. She responded by accusing politicians in Dublin and Brussels of using the issue of the Northern Ireland border as “blackmail” in the Brexit negotiations/
