Irish voters are heading to the polls on Friday to elect a new Government, with the two centre parties which have run the country for more than a century and been in coalition together for the past 4 years – vying to stay in power.
In Dublin Central – voters will have an even more controversial choice. As well as Sinn Fein President Mary Lou McDonald – the suspected crime boss Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch is also on the ballot.
He’s currently on bail after being arrested in Spain during a money laundering investigation but that hasn’t stopped him running for office.
And, rather like the candidates, you might find some of the language in this report quite colourful.
