Is cannabis legalisation coming to the UK?

The Home Secretary has ordered a review into the medicinal use of cannabis – saying his decision was prompted by the cases of two young children with severe epilepsy, who were denied access to the drugs they need.

Sajid Javid said the review would first look into which cannabis based medicines might offer real benefits to patients – and then investigate any necessary change in the rules.

Families who’ve been campaigning for change have welcomed his announcement but say a decision is needed quickly.
