Islamist gangs taking over prison wings, new report warns

A new report into extremism in prisons warns that Islamist gangs are taking over entire wings and have forced people to convert.

The independent reviewer of terrorist legislation, Jonathan Hall, carried out a review after a recently released prisoner killed two people at London Bridge in November 2019.

He is critical of funding cuts and told us militants must not be given the opportunity to plan attacks from jail.
