Israel claims body of hostage found near Gaza’s Shifa hospital

Israeli soldiers are continuing to search the al Shifa hospital in Gaza City – where they say Hamas has based its command centre deep underground. Hamas, which is designated as a terrorist organisation by the UK – has denied the claim.

In the past hour, the Israeli military said they had recovered the body of a female hostage, from a building near the hospital – along with what they described as Hamas military equipment and weapons, although there’s been no independent verification.
