Israel-Gaza: how death and suffering have affected families on either side

The brutal 7th October attack by Hamas here in Israel and the subsequent onslaught on Gaza by Israeli forces, have shattered families on both sides.

The scale of the death and suffering is so high it’s often difficult to comprehend. Our foreign affairs correspondent Secunder Kermani brings us the stories of two families, from either side, whose lives in the past month have been torn apart.
