Israel Hamas: Gaza refugees ‘in horror’ as they await Rafah invasion

In Jerusalem the American CIA chief has been meeting the Israeli Prime Minister trying to exert pressure towards a ceasefire.

The Americans have taken the extraordinary step of freezing a major arms shipment and confirmed they are reviewing security assistance to Israel.

That follows Mr Netanyahu’s declaration that he is intent on destroying Hamas in Rafah, where 1.5 million people are crammed after seven months of war, and where a whole section of the city has been ordered to get out and move north.
