‘Israel preparing for ground invasion’, Netanyahu says

On the ground in Gaza, UN aid workers say they are on the verge of running out of fuel: warning that without it, they’ll have to drastically cut back relief efforts.

While at the UN, secretary general Antonio Gutteres has become embroiled in a deepening row with Israel over a statement he made about the war.

Israeli diplomats are demanding his resignation for suggesting the attacks by Hamas – which the UK has designated a terrorist organisation – had “not happened in a vacuum”.
