Israel rejects Biden call to ‘de-escalate’ Gaza conflict

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared he’s determined to press ahead with military operations in Gaza “until its aim is met”, hours after President Joe Biden said he expected a “significant de-escalation” in the conflict.

Israel has continued its airstrikes on Gaza, while Hamas fired more rockets into Israeli border towns.
