Israeli siege of northern Gaza continues as thousands flee

An Israeli airstrike has hit a refugee camp in Southern Gaza, killing at least 17 people according to medics. Tents caught fire in Al Mawasi, where displaced Palestinians had moved for safety.

Meanwhile thousands of people have been fleeing the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya as the Israeli military intensifies operations there. The Israel Defence Force says it’s trying to prevent Hamas fighters from regrouping in the area.
