James Cleverly knocked out of Conservative leadership contest

Only yesterday Conservative MPs put James Cleverly in first place in the third round of the Tory leadership contest, but today they knocked him out of the race.

His shock exit means party members must choose between Kemi Badenoch and Robert Jenrick, both candidates from the right wing of the party.

But the outcome of the ballot won’t be known until November 2nd.
