The former FBI Director, James Comey, has told Channel 4 News he has suffered many sleepless nights for his role in bringing President Trump to the White House.
Speaking to presenter Jon Snow, he said: “I’m a pretty good sleeper, so it’s typically either late at night before I go to sleep or early in the morning. But of course I ask myself that a lot.”
Asked whether he was responsible for destroying Hillary Clinton’s chances of becoming president – due to his handling of the investigation into her use of a private email server – he said: “I hope not. The honest answer is I don’t know.”
Mr Comey also said he is “ashamed of the Republican Party for their silence” over President Trump’s border policy. He admitted he can “hear the voices” of children separating from their parents and can’t get the images of out of his head.
