Japan PM evacuated unharmed in blast after suspected attack

The Japanese prime minister had to be evacuated from a campaign event – after an explosion went off.

Fumio Kishida was about to start giving a speech in Wakayama – when there was a loud blast, followed by smoke – sending people running from the scene in panic.

Police said a suspect was now in custody.
