Jay Rayner is a journalist, food critic and author, best known for his entertaining food and drink criticism and gastronomic publications.

His latest book, Chewing the Fat, is a collection of some of his columns, which answer some vital questions in the food world from decades at the very frontline of eating.

He talks to Krishnan about how politics and culture reflect and influence eating habits as well as his love and talent for jazz music.
