Josie Proto’s viral TikTok song about women’s safety leads to record deal

Plenty of 20-year-olds have spent months in their bedrooms recently, but singer Josie Proto has had a more productive lockdown than most.

Her song about women’s safety on the streets really struck a chord, and after it went viral on the social media site TikTok, she was signed by a major record label.
