Junior doctors in Wales start three day strike over pay

Junior doctors in Wales have started a three day strike over pay. The walkout began at 7am and could see more than three thousand taking action – in what authorities warn is already one of the most pressurised weeks of the year.

They say they’ve suffered an almost 30 percent pay cut in real terms over the last 15 years, but the Welsh Government health minister says she can’t afford to pay more without an increase in funding from the UK government.
