Kamala Harris chosen as Joe Biden’s running mate

Her career has already broken many barriers.

Now the California senator Kamala Harris has broken one more, after Joe Biden picked her as his running mate in November’s presidential race.

Once rivals in the Democratic primaries, the pair are due to make their first joint appearance tonight in Mr Biden’s home state of Delaware.
