King Charles calls for unity following UK riots

King Charles has praised the “community spirit” which countered the past week of riots – and called for national unity around shared values of mutual respect and understanding.

More of those arrested over the disorder have been appearing in courts across the country – as police said over 300 people had so far been charged. Our chief correspondent Alex Thomson reports from Newcastle.
