Labour and Conservatives argue over spending pledges

Economic plans have been the talk of the election campaign today, with Labour rejecting Conservative claims that their economic policies would cost over a trillion pounds extra, as “a ludicrous piece of Tory fake news”.

Chancellor Sajid Javid said today that Labour would plunge the country into an economic crisis “within months”.
