Labour and Tories ditch candidates linked to betting scandal

Rishi Sunak has withdrawn support from two Conservative candidates who are being investigated in the general election date betting scandal.

Laura Saunders hasn’t commented on this latest development, but Craig Williams said he had “committed an error of judgement, not an offence” and intended to clear his name.

Labour also suspended one of their candidates, Kevin Craig, who’s being investigated by the watchdog after he apparently bet on himself to lose.
