Labour call for immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza for first time

For the first time, Labour has called for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire” in Gaza.

In an effort to head off a rebellion by its MPs, the party has published an amendment to an SNP motion calling more bluntly for an immediate ceasefire.

And in an unusual move, Prince William has made an impassioned plea for the fighting to end as soon as possible.
