Labour demands answers over government train deal

Labour has accused the government of letting the companies that run the east coast mainline off the hook after their deal to run its trains was ended early. The Shadow Transport Secretary Andy McDonald told the Commons that Stagecoach and Virgin had been “bailed out” and “rewarded for failure”. But is it as simple as that?
