The Prime Minister has laid out his plan to tackle NHS backlogs, on the same day the Royal Liverpool Hospital revealed that the longest wait for a bed in its A&E was 91 hours.
Sir Keir Starmer says more patients will be sent for treatment in the private sector, and care will be shifted away from hospitals and into the community.
But he also stressed that the NHS needs reform from top to bottom and cannot become a national money pit.
So are Labour’s plans likely to work?
