Labour to give English local authorities power to run bus services

The government has unveiled plans for what it’s calling a “bus revolution” that will save vital routes around the country.

It wants to give local authorities the power to run bus services, allowing them to set routes and timetables.

Buses in England were privatised in the 1980s, and the Transport Minister says she wants to put local communities back in the driving seat.
