Leaked evidence of Downing Street drinks party held during May 2020 lockdown

New evidence has emerged alleging that staff at Downing Street held another drinks party during the height of lockdown.

At the time, Covid regulations meant people were not allowed to meet more than one other person outdoors.

But ITV News has seen a leaked email from the civil servant in charge of the prime minister’s private office, inviting more than 100 staff to Number 10 for what he called “socially distanced drinks”.
