Legendary German footballer Franz Beckenbauer dies aged 78

The legendary German footballer Franz Beckenbauer has died at the age of 78.

He was one of only 3 men to win the FIFA World Cup as both player and manager.

Among the tributes – Gary Lineker called him “one of the absolute greats of our game”.
