Levelling Up: How is key government project going?

The government has touted its announcements on high-speed rail as “one of the biggest single acts of levelling up of any government in history”.

Leveling up is a long standing, albeit ambiguously defined, tenet of this government.

Starting as a manifesto promise to tackle regional inequality, it’s become important enough to even have its own government department.
