Libya investigates collapsed dams after thousands killed in floods

Prosecutors in Libya have launched an investigation into the collapse of two dams in the eastern city of Derna, a week after it was overwhelmed by catastrophic floods, leaving thousands of people dead.

Aid organisations say relief efforts are “chaotic”, warning that diseases like cholera could spread, as well as severe shortages of food, clean water and medicines.
