Liverpool library torched by rioters reopens

North of England Correspondent

One of the buildings torched during the riots this summer was a Liverpool library.

The Children’s Laureate described the attack as an “assault on the truth”.

But the lights are now back on. Frank Cottrell Boyce was among the guests invited to open Spellow Hub, which was repaired and restocked after a quarter of a million pounds was raised and hundreds of books were donated, including from the Queen.
