‘Lives could be at risk’ if large parts of Port Talbot plant rapidly closed, says Wales FM

Unions are due to meet steel bosses tomorrow as they try to avert thousands of job losses at the UK’s largest steelworks. There’s been no formal announcement by Tata about the future of Port Talbot – but there are increasing fears that it’s considering shutting down large parts of the plant as soon as March.

The First Minister of Wales has told this programme that if a rapid shutdown results in large scale job cuts – he fears lives could be at risk.
