Lockdown hangover leaves firms with big rent bills

There are some signs that the UK economy is clambering back from the depths of the pandemic recession, growing by 2.3 per cent in April as more shops and outdoor hospitality venues began opening up again.

But the recovery is by no means plain sailing, some sectors are still badly affected. While many businesses, which had to stay closed for most of the year, are suddenly facing huge rent repayments.
