Lord Shinkwin: ‘We have lost powerful voice on disability’

A Conservative peer has threatened to quit the party in the Lords in protest at its stance towards disabled people. Lord Shinkwin, who uses a wheelchair, was due to be appointed as a disability commissioner at the Equality and Human Rights Commission earlier this year. But the position was then scrapped.
